The company operates through a network of qualified vendors and partners, with most production activities

outsourced. To strengthen its operations, Lamor India is looking for a technically competent Assistant

Manager – Projects for its Navi Mumbai office.

The main goal of the position 

The Assistant Manager – Projects will be responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and monitoring

of projects from initiation to delivery. The role requires strong technical understanding, project coordination,

and vendor management skills. The incumbent must be capable of reading and interpreting engineering

drawings, interacting with vendors on technical and quality issues, and ensuring that outsourced fabrication

and assembly activities meet Lamor’s quality and delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Coordination

    • Assist in project scheduling, resource planning, and monitoring progress against timelines.

    • Coordinate between internal teams (engineering, procurement, quality) and external vendors to ensure smooth project execution.

    • Track project milestones, highlight bottlenecks, and propose corrective actions.

  • Technical Oversight

    • Review and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

    • Discuss fabrication and assembly requirements with vendors and ensure understanding of specifications.

    • Conduct technical checks during fabrication to ensure adherence to design and standards.

  • Vendor Management

    • Liaise with approved vendors for fabrication, machining, and assembly work.

    • Evaluate vendor capabilities, ensure timely delivery, and monitor quality of outsourced components.

    • Conduct site visits to vendor facilities to assess progress and resolve technical or quality issues.

  • Quality & Compliance

    • Ensure that products manufactured by vendors meet Lamor’s quality and performance standards.

    • Coordinate with Quality Department for inspections, testing, and acceptance.

    • Maintain documentation related to quality checks, deviations, and corrective actions.

  • Reporting & Financial Responsibility

    • Report project progress, key issues, and cost status to the Senior Manager – Operations on a regular basis.

    • Support financial tracking of projects, including monitoring of budgets, material costs, vendor invoices, and payment schedules.

    • Ensure project activities remain within approved financial limits and assist in preparing project cost reports and forecasts.

    • Maintain accurate records for project documentation, approvals, and reporting

Job requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.

• Experience: 3–6 years of relevant experience in project management, fabrication supervision, or

vendor coordination within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

• Experience in outsourced manufacturing setups preferred.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, fabrication processes, and quality parameters.

• Hands-on experience in vendor management and project coordination.

• Working knowledge of project planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel trackers, or ERP systems).

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

• Willingness and flexibility to travel for work assignments as required.
