About Lamor India

Lamor India is a leading manufacturer and supplier of oil spill response and environmental protection

equipment, operating as part of the global Lamor Group, Finland. The company engages in domestic and

international projects and participates actively in government and private sector tenders. To strengthen its

business development and tendering function, Lamor India is seeking a detail-oriented and process-driven

Proposal Manager for its Navi Mumbai office.

The main goal of the position 

The Proposal Manager will be responsible for identifying bids, managing tender submissions, maintaining historical cost and pricing data, and preparing comprehensive technical and commercial proposals. The role requires strong Excel proficiency, data management skills, understanding of costing elements, and the ability to coordinate with internal teams, especially Production, Finance, and Supply Chain, to ensure accurate pricing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tender Management

    • Monitor and track tender opportunities on various portals including GeM (Government e-Marketplace) and other client-specific tender platforms

    • Maintain a comprehensive database of published tenders with key dates, requirements, and status updates

    • Ensure timely preparation and submission of all tender proposals

  • Proposal Preparation

    • Prepare complete tender proposals with accurate technical and commercial details

    • Compile and organize historical data related to previous bids, pricing, and project execution

    • Ensure all tender documents are complete, compliant, and meet client specifications

  • Cost Analysis & Coordination

    • Coordinate with the production/procurement/logistics team to obtain current cost prices for products/services

    • Calculate and apply appropriate margins based on company guidelines and market conditions

    • Identify and compute all direct and indirect costs including:

      • Transportation and logistics costs

      • Inspection and quality assurance charges

      • Packaging and handling expenses

      • Taxes, duties, and other statutory charges

      • Any other relevant cost elements specific to each tender

  • Data Management

    • Maintain organized records of all tender-related documentation

    • Create and manage Excel-based tracking systems for bids, costs, and historical data

    • Update and maintain pricing databases and cost sheets

    • Generate reports on bid status, win/loss ratios, and pricing trends

  • System & Tool Usage

    • Work with company ERP/management tools (such as LEAN or similar systems)

    • Navigate and extract data from various systems for proposal preparation

    • Maintain digital records and ensure data accuracy across platforms

Job requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Graduate in Engineering, Commerce, Business Administration, or similar disciplines.

  • Experience: 2–4 years in tendering, proposals, bid management, costing, or commercial coordination in manufacturing/engineering companies.

  • Experience working on GeM portal or government tenders is highly preferred.

  • Experience with outsourced manufacturing environments is an added advantage.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong numerical and analytical capabilities with high attention to detail

  • Strong Excel skills (formulas, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data analysis)

  • Ability to compile and manage data from multiple sources

  • Understanding of costing and pricing principles

  • Good organizational skills to manage multiple tenders

  • Solid general IT skills and ability to learn new systems quickly

  • Experience with ERP tools and digital document management

  • Basic familiarity with tender portals and e-procurement

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with a proactive, solution-oriented approach

  • Strong time management and prioritization skills

  • Effective communication and coordination skills
