Job description

Lamor Recycling is looking for a senior operations engineer for its new chemical recycling facility for plastics. Come join us, and start something new with us – Finland’s first industrial scope facility for chemical recycling of plastics!


You will be responsible for the production, high standards of operation quality and daily maintenance of the plant. In addition, the commissioning of the plant will be a major part of your first year's work. Your tasks will also include developing the plant's production and maintenance together with your team and participating in projects as a plant expert.

The main goal for the position

The goal is to lead the development and implementation of process designs, transforming concepts into detailed technical drawings and documents while ensuring compliance with standards, safety, and project timelines. This role involves extensive collaboration with various stakeholders to optimise process design and support the entire project lifecycle, from conceptualisation to commissioning.

Job requirements

Your main responsibilities

  • Develop and update process documents (P&IDs, line lists, process datasheets).
  • Design and evaluate different conceptual designs.
  • Turn design ideas and concepts into technical drawings using AUTOCAD and other process design tools.
  • Perform process calculations and provide necessary process data to other disciplines.
  • Provide technical support and solutions to design and operational issues.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance process design.
  • Participate in commissioning, start-up, and risk assessments.
  • Continuously develop your expertise and apply lessons learned.


The best combination of experience and skills for the position

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Automation Engineering
  • Professional experience in process, chemical, energy, bio or petrochemical industry (5+ years)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, industrial, and health and safety standards and procedures
  • Relevant certification (for example Lean, SAP) in production
  • Sound knowledge of industry-specific factory equipment
  • Experience with industrial risk analyses such as Hazop, QRA, Fire & Safety
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Fluency in Finnish and English.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve any issues that may derail production and further to determine the cause of problems and develop effective solutions for the issues.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, high degree of integrity.
  • Workplace health and safety skills to enforce compliance with health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Time management skills and the ability to multitask to organise and plan how to divide the time between different activities and complete them simultaneously with a constant eye on quality.
  • Ability to learn and get acquainted with new technologies, company standards and tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 50 days per year
